Ryan Reynolds is in his hometown of Vancouver, Canada, doing re-shoots for Deadpool 2.

And on Monday, he shared a bunch of photos to his Instagram from a set visit by kids with life-threatening medical conditions.

The actor, 41, wrote in the caption that being able to spend time with the brave youngsters is 'one of the best parts of playing the Big Red Jackass.'

Ryan, who is married to actress Blake Lively, has kids of his own - daughters James, three, and Ines, one.

He met with the children in full costume as Marvel's Deadpool and each were presented with their own specially made sword to take home with them as a memento.

The Hollywood star wrote on Instagram: 'One of the best parts of playing the Big Red Jackass is welcoming @makeawishamerica and @childrenswishfoundation onto set. Deadpool kicked Cancer in the taint, but these kids do it for real every day.'

He went on: 'These foundations make dreams come true for a lot of of super-brave kids. They also make dreams come true for parents, who just wanna see their kid smile. HUGE thanks to our Prop Master, Dan Sissons, for making sure every kid left with his/her own sword. (Bamboo versions. Not stabby-stabby versions.)'

The Deadpool movie was released in 2016 and became a monster hit.

It was rated R 'for strong violence and language throughout, sexual content and graphic nudity.'

One person responded to Ryan's post by pointing out the rating and expressing the opinion that it was wrong for the kids to have watched it.

Ryan immediately responded writing: 'Yup. Deadpool is Rated R. If my kid went through a fraction of the s*** these kids deal with daily, I think they can watch whatever they like. That's just my .02 cents.'

Deadpool 2, which also stars Josh Brolin and Zazie Beetz, will land in theatres on May 18.

Meet and greet: The youngsters were selected through the Make-A-Wish Foundation in  the USA and the Children's Wish Foundation in Canada
