EXILED (1995)
Peter Parker knows he's the clone, Ben Reilly learned he's the original. We all know what's coming, right? I mean, someone has to be Spider-Man...
Note: This is not to be confused with the 2012 Exiled crossover starring the New Mutants and Loki.

Loop and Paul Proust, friends of the Black Cat, approach Spider-Man and the Scarlet Spider when she goes missing. Once they've freed her from D'Spayre's clutches, Peter offers the Spider-Man mask to Ben. Ben rejects the offer and decides to leave New York City.

Unable to turn his back on New York, Ben dons his Scarlet Spider costume once more. He visits his friend, Seward Trainer, but Trainer's home is bombed and Ben is unable to find him.  Searching for Trainer, the Scarlet Spider is captured by tentacled robots.

Ben recalls his history with Seward Trainer while he breaks free from captivity. He fights his way through more octobots, eventually saving Trainer from a deathtrap. Neither of them seem to know who their enemy is. Back at the Parker's apartment, Peter seems to be weirding out.

The Vulture is struggling to maintain his stolen youth. His life-draining murder spree is shut down by the Scarlet Spider. Meanwhile, Peter has started experiencing visions of Mary Jane's death, just like Kaine used to...

Dr Seward Trainer introduces Ben Reilly aka the Scarlet Spider, to a new form of virtual reality. But someone else wants it bad: the new Doctor Octopus. The new Doc Ock, revealed as Seward Trainer's daughter and, more recently, kidnapper. She attacks her father and the Scarlet Spider, stealing the device for herself.

Having felt his unborn baby kick, Spider-Man web-swings to celebrate and finds himself in the middle of the fight between the Scarlet Spider and Doctor Octopus. When he's nearly killed, Peter wonders if it's fair for a child to have a father who constantly risks his life...
